Austin Community College’s Elgin Campus is the first college campus in Bastrop County, Texas. Enrolling hundreds of students, its focus is Early College Education for High School students as well as college-readiness and core curriculum. The construction of ACC Elgin Campus was completed in 2013. In addition, Phase II construction has begun on the second campus building which will focus primarily on Sustainable Agriculture Entrepreneurship Program and Veterinary programs.

The railings throughout the campus were fabricated and installed by VIVA Railings. The stunning stainless steel railings give a sense of safety and security to the halls while providing a sense of openness. VIVA Railing’s BLADE Stainless Steel Wire Mesh railing system used Banker Wire’s M44-2 large architectural wire mesh pattern in stainless steel to enhance the custom railing.

M44-2 decorative wire mesh is a contemporary pattern featuring groups of four wires that intersect in a plaid-like fashion. The large percent open area of M44-2 gives uninterrupted sight lines while maintaining its durability against the high traffic areas of the ACC Elgin Campus. The wide variety of alloys and Secondary Finishes that are available for M44-2 make is a cost-effective and beautiful wire mesh that can be used in a great deal of applications.
